Here’s one movie where you don’t need a toss or review to go, you know it’s going to be fun. Shweta Basu Prasad and Gauahar Khan makes their presence felt in their short roles. Convincing and great in his act.Īparshakti Khurana and Alia’s sister are good in their roles too. Rituraj Singh as Badrinath’s father is very convincing. Aakanksha Singh As Kiran and Gaurav Pandey as Gurmeet, Alia’s two friends are good in their roles and catches your attention. Sahil Vaid as Badrinath’s friend is wonderful in his performance, he is spontaneous and super fun. He is just brilliant, his expressions, his dialect and his act, all bindaas and superb. But if there is someone who can steal the spotlight, its Varun Dhawan as Badrinath Bansal in the movie. In an out and out commercial film after few of her reflective performances, she is a delight to watch. The costumes need a special mention, vibrant and ethnic bringing out the essence of UP.Īlia Bhatt as Vaidehi Trivedi is fab as always. Varun Dhawan, known for his chocolate boy image, feels his role in the upcoming film Badrinath Ki Dulhania is quite different from his own personality. The message is relevantly strong delivered in the best possible way, wrapped with a combo of situational comedy and romance. Also, the twist in the movie isn’t convincing enough. But the movie should have been short in length, it stops growing in the second half and gets dragged. It’s the dialect and bindaas nature of the script that makes it stand out bright and different than its first part. But the best part is the backdrop of the film, Uttar Pradesh. The dialogues are good, there is spontaneity and relatability in script. Moving forward and talking about the script, it’s fun, colorful, has masti and not just time pass masti but masti that involves one. And that’s the very reason, we keeping the story only as understood by the trailer, boy meets girl, falls in love, twist and heartbreak.Įnding, happy or otherwise, you go find out. Or not so predictable, we aren’t revealing that. Since the base plot is more or less the same, the movie is predictable. It just gives one an idea what kind of fun one should expect. But Vaidehi is an aspirational girl, from Kota (Rajasthan), trying to fight her way out of the male dominant world she has grown up in. When he meets Vaidehi Trivedi, he believes he has found the ideal bride. Same actors but not same characters, same genre but different fun, same base track but different plot, this one is in no way related to the first. Badrinath Bansal, a man from Jhansi (Uttar Pradesh, India), is an MCP, not by choice, but because of his upbringing led by his dominant father Ambernath Bansal.
